California Trip Day 3

Grand Canyon day!!! 

 We stopped by the Wupatki National Monument on the way to the Grand Canyon. We got to see the ancient ruins of the Citadel Pueblo and the Lomaki Pueblo. 

 We stopped at several Navajo Indian shops along the way. Gracie bought a dream catcher and a tomahawk, Evan bought an arrow and I bought a hand-painted ornament and a pair of earrings. 

Next it was on to the Grand Canyon.

California Trip

Pictures from days 1 & 2. 

Day 1: travelled from home through Indiana, Illinois, miss or and Oklahoma. 

There really wasn't much to see today. The highlights of the day were the St Louis arch, seeing a lot of windmills, and eating at Rib Crib in Elk City, OK.

Day 2: Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. 

Today was much more exciting than yesterday. We did some tourist-y stuff and got to see the terrain change.  

went to Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, TX (it was very, very windy)

Stopped at an Indian gift shop/gas station on historic Route 66

We finished out our day staying in Winslow, AZ. Of course we had to visit "the corner". This is also on historic Route 66.
