Washington DC-Day 4

Today was our last day in DC :( The kids and Nick are ready to move here. Me, not so much. The kids mainly want to move because they want to ride the metro everyday. :)

Today we went to the National Air & Space museum, took a tour of the Capitol Building, saw the Library if Congress, saw the White House, and visited the Raegan Building.

Washington DC-Day 3

Today we visited the National Archives, where we waited in line for 4 hours (!!!!) just to get in the building. My advice to anyone wanting to visit the archives is to pay the $1.50/person fee to schedule a visit. These reservations book months in advance (which we did not know until too late). So, in line we waited. Forever. The kids were so good & didn't complain one bit (wish I could say the same for me ;) )

No pictures are allowed in the archive building, so the only pics I have from there are of the kids at the front if the building.

After we left the archives, we went to the Old Post Office where we got to go up in the tower and look out over the city.

Then we headed over to the Lincoln & Vietnam Memorials.

Washington DC-Day 2

Today we experienced the metro (which the kids loved riding!), the National Zoo (pandas!!!), and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.

Washington DC Trip-Day 1

We did lots of driving today! Drove through a lot of mountains and across the Eastern Continental Divide at 2800ft. We saw some cool things along the way, including a replica of Noah's Ark being built. Plus, we got to add West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia to the list of states we've been in. After ten hours of driving, we finally made it to Arlington Cemetery, which was very cool. I've seen pictures, but nothing could have prepared me for the size of the cemetery and the amount of graves that are there. Here are a few pictures from today:
